Guru Gorakhnath — The Great Siddha Master
Guru Gorakhnath is one of the most revered saints in the history of Indian spirituality. The foremost disciple of Matsyendranath and principal architect of the Nath Panth, he is credited with systematizing Hatha Yoga and authoring foundational texts such as the Goraksha Samhita. He established monasteries across India and created a living community of yogis that continues to this day.
His teachings emphasize rigorous yogic discipline, detachment from worldly pleasures, awakening of the Kundalini Shakti, and realization of the Absolute through meditation. Cities like Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh bear his name, and his shrine there remains a major center of pilgrimage — worshipped as a divine figure across North India and Nepal.
